Luvie is now available for adoption.
He is 16+ hands high. "Tall, chestnut and handsome" says it all!
He is super sweet and looking for his new forever home.

This guy is very kind and beginner friendly.

Please call or write for more information about adopting this wonderful guy!

History:
He was purchased by a dealer at the livestock auction in New Holland, PA. He was then trailered
around for about 4 days...going to three different
sales and was no-saled each time, as he did not reach the dealers desired amount.

We got a call from the dealer on Day 6 and he informed us of the situation. We agreed to purchase him from the dealer.
When he arrived he was dehydrated and the dealer confirmed he was "melting" and had lost about
100lbs in the past week. We then saw a wound on his front chest/leg area...
We were told by the dealer, "aawww, that's nothing, just got a kick. I hosed it off and its good to go"....

Needless to say it WASN'T ok...

By the time we realized what was really wrong with his leg it was too late to have it
stitched up (he was kicked the day before we got him - estimated 31+ hours between
the kick and arriving at Angel Acres) the wound shown in the photo is on Day 7 after
treatment was initiated.

Involving cleaning and lots of meds:
  • SMZ's
  • Penicillin
  • twice daily would cleaning
  • Dry Cow application
  • Wunder Dust application
  • Novax

This wound had a large torn flap
above the main injury and was infected and full of puss. This must have been very painful for him.

Our trainer, Jackie, was hugely instrumental in addressing the wound in the middle of
the evening and Angel Acres can't thank her enough...

The Luv Guy is just another example of why we get up each and every morning and do what we do...
thank you for your continued support of the Angel Acres rescue horses...by the way...
he is super sweet and stood through all the meds and cleanings quietly and patiently...
this guy is going to make someone VERY happy!
